KINFRA Global Ayurveda Village projectGlobal Ayurveda village – a project of state government giving importance Ayurveda -will be set up by Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) at Chempakamangalam near Thonnakkal in Thiruvananthapuram. Earlier this year, Mr. P K Kunhalikutty, Minister for Industries & IT had laid the foundation stone for the first phase of the project.
New Ayurveda University for KeralaMr. Oommen Chandy, Chief Minister of Kerala said that the state will get an Ayurveda University soon. Speaking at the 51st Sala at the Mammen Mappillai Hall in Kottayam, Chief Minister said, “An amendment was also made encouraging planters to devote five per cent of their farms and orchards for the cultivation of medicinal plants”.
Central Government to promote Ayurveda and Yoda through AyushThe Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have directed states to use expertise of department of Ayush -Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy and Unani -in checking their spread. The government would ensure that traditional medicines, manufactured in India under trademark of Ayurveda. And these medicines will be used for curing six deadly diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, Black fever, Filaria and Chikungunya.
"The Central Council for Research in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani under Department of Ayush has also patented and commercialised an anti-malarial drug AYUSH 64," said Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare.
